Out of interest - are you asking AB members to read that piece and discuss it?

Are there any points you want to home in on?
He has crucified his acting career on Twitter, he doesn't know when to shut up, nor does he put his brain in to hear before pressing 'send'.

His arrogance knows no bounds. Thankfully his brother Jack is filling the Laurence shape hole on TV; I am enjoying his performance in Sanditon.
"if you understand the political climate in today’s Britain, you won’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. It will be in the direction of Reclaim and Fox, and it will be more than just a stiff breeze."

That's simply untrue.
He's bang on gawd knows what the TROB teachers are doing to the kids in Schools. We are living through the creation of a new fascism, where anyone not adhering to the prescribed thoughts and opinions on any given subject are hunted and pilloried, stripped of everything by a Thought Stazi. Even Orwell didn't imagine what our society is becoming. Ironically the purveyors of this madness cannot see that they are the new fascists.

Yep...Fox should've been a radical voice, someone to supplant Katie Hopkins in right-leaning minds, but he's somehow painted himself into a corner. It often seems like he'll say something simply for Twitter engagement (like Piers Morgan).

How many people take him and his views seriously?

Also sidebar...my partner is in show business and a few years ago we were sat near Mr Fix at a BAFTA lunch. Lawrence must've had a terrible stomach flu - he was off to the loos every half hour.

Hope he's over it.
Going on that way, TTT.
Sorry...I've forgotten.

What is TROB short for again?

I really should write these down.
Mr Fix = Mr Fox.

Damn Autocorrect
TROB - The Right On Brigade.
Thanks Neveracrossword.

Going to note these down from now on!
“ We are living through the creation of a new fascism, where anyone not adhering to the prescribed thoughts and opinions on any given subject are hunted and pilloried, stripped of everything by a Thought Stazi.”

That’s a social media thing. You notice a here mentality on Twitter (for example) which I believe is borne out of a need for people to be included - to be part of the witch hunt rather than the hunted.

But this is absolutely NOT a ‘left thing’.

Right-leaners do this too…

Wow !!! & wow again.
SP: "That’s a social media thing. You notice a here mentality on Twitter (for example) which I believe is borne out of a need for people to be included - to be part of the witch hunt rather than the hunted. " - it's much more than that, Fox lost all his acting work for example.
"But this is absolutely NOT a ‘left thing’." - yes it is, show me a case where it isn't.
Yup, if you dont tow the line then you are cancelled. It is very wrong.

There needs to be a fight back, quickly.

BA there from TTT IMHO.
//That's simply untrue.//

What you should have written is 'That's simply untrue - IMHO'.

For many normal thinking people it is true. Maybe not directly for Fox/Reclaim but it will be in that direction.
It is absolutely true.
IIRC Mr Fox was took an audience member to task because she accused him of being a "privileged white man". These were attributes he could nothing about, any more than his accuser could do anything about being female, black and (presumably) underprivileged.

His life changed dramatically as a result of that frank exchange of truths, which demonstrates precisely why this insidious attitude that there can be only one acceptable point of view must be challenged at every opportunity.
TTT

Lawrence Fox may have lost roles because people didn't want to be associated with him - but there was no concerted campaign. People simply didn't want to work with him in the same way that most 'normal people' can't stand being the company of someone who can't shut up about their political views.

Examples of mouthy right wingers trying to coerce everyone else into their point of view?

Attitudes to BLM...complaining to ITV when Diversity took the knee.

The annual Pride moan-fest. Every year on the dot. "When are we going to have Straight Pride?"

Poppy facism. Regular as clockwork. If you're not wearing on telly, then expect the purple pen brigade to be on your case.

The bullying of trans people.

Their attitude to vaccines and lockdowns - not exclusively a right wing thing, but there was a huge cross-over.

The adoption of conspiracy theories by the right wing.

The removal of Roe vs Wade...and possibly in the future same sex couples, contraception and mixed race couples in the US, and when America catches a cold...blah blah.

We've got to stop thinking that right wingers are passively sitting around whilst the narrative flows around them. It's simply not true. They give as good as they get.

Maybe not Reclaim.

Who then?
