What film is this?

I remember seeing a film when I was younger, and it's been driving mad all day, it starts with an alien probe landing in a corn field then the scene cuts to a man taking a shower and the water runs cold. All the while Seal's 'Crazy' is playing in the background. I think it might star Kevin Costner, or somebody who looks like him. Any clues? Answers?
