There is a song with a female vocalist, cant seem to track it down. The lyrics go something like
I was sitting at the edge of the beautiful blue sea
Waiting for someone to go passing by me
And thinking of my, innermost thoughts

Quite a mellow song, in the vein of dubstar, Portishead, St Etiene.

It is strange that these lyrics fit to a pixies song "Cactus" (covered brilliantly bt David Bowie)

Sitting here wishing on a cement floor
Just wishing that I had just something you wore
I put it on when I go lonely
Will you take off your dress and send it to me?

I miss your kissing and I miss your head
And a letter in your writing doesn't mean you're not dead
Just run outside in the desert heat
Make your dress all wet and send it to me

I miss your soup and I miss your bread
And a letter in your writing doesn't mean you're not dead
So spill your breakfast and drip your wine
Just wear that dress when you're dying

Probably not that one though, hey ho.

Hi there

Thanks for the taking the time to reply, but that isnt the one. Thanks all the same, much appreciated!
Sorry I can not help further. But if you like the Pixies you should listen to Bowie's version.

And yes the lyrics could be sung over the tune quite nicely!!!

Only Bowie could have the audacity to sing D--A---V---i---D over a Pixies classic!!!!
