BAck when I was at school, I played in the band for a school production called Yanomamo which was supposedly set in some rainforest somewhere. Anyway, my dad loved the music and I want to buy it for him but can't find it anywhere

you could try goin back to the school! my school did a production of yanomamo in the 80s so we may have gone to the same school!
I found loads of info about various schools doing performances, but little recorded music! There's a cassette that may be suitable here: http://www.musicdispatch.com/item_detail.jsp?itemid=48016684 &order=8&refer=browse&start=Y&end=Z&catcode=11 or if you're in the UK here: http://www.boosey.com/pages/shop/product_detail.asp?id=71200 3&a= (you could transfer it to disc). I also found the composer's site, that says a CD is available: http://www.yanomamo.co.uk/home/rose-conlon/yanomamo/extras.h tml#merchandise and directs you to his publishers who only list a cassette (that I suspect is the same as listed above). Apparently Yanomamo was filmed by Channel 4 as "Song of the Forest" which is supposed to be on VHS and audio cassette, but I couldn't track a copy down.

Thanks - I'll check out the websites! My dad'll be chuffed to bits (after all this effort he'd better be!) Thanks!
yes we must have gone to the same school cos Mr Rose was my music teacher! he also wrote another musical (whilst i was at the school) called Arabica.
Sadly, there isn't an audio version to Song of the Forest, and I think the video is now out of print! Did you know I got my copy from Ebay? Fancy that!

Good that people like the music. I'm very impressed that MISS was from the original High School, would love to chat about that some time...
