For me it's when I hear "Staying out for the Summer" by Dodgy or "Wake up Boo" by the Boo Radleys.
I think most people have a song which reminds them of summer.
There's a certain person I really hope answers this :)

The smell of freshly cut grass.

The song of the skylark on a sunny spring morning.
The song Summertime Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince does it for me. But also the 1st bit of sun when you open your windows all you can here are people mowing the lawn and that smell of freshly cut grass :-)
The sound of lawn mowers in the morning at weekends, the birds outside my window and the lambs calling their mums in the field at the back of our house. I hope we get a real Summer this year. :)
Bloody hell Whisks, that's near poetry! :)
I love that smell mamyalynne. Especially if it has been very hot and then it rains and that first few moments when the rain hits hot tarmac or paving. It's alomst as good as fresh cut grass.

I've seen plenty of bees this year but only one or two wasps. Not that I'm complaining. I hate the little horrors.
I've seen some of the biggest bees ever this year. They are starting to look like hairy birds.
