I changed my gas/electric suppler about 10 days ago, gave them all my direct debit details which they confirmed was OK and they told me I would be switched over to them in about a months time.

I had a letter from them this morning to say that my current supplier has raised an objection to them taking over my supply, and I will have to contact them to have it lifted.

Anybody know why, I thought that it could be done between the suppliers, as they always keep telling us .

and surely isnt it your choice
Have you got some sort of fixed term price with your old supplier which has a time limit?
your'e supposed to contact you current supplier given them warning that you will be cancelling your agreement. They give you a "cut off date" which is when you will be cut off their supply. You give this date to the new supplier.

Fill out a load of paper work with both companies and thats it
You could own them money.

I don't owe them money, I pay by direct debit.

I have just spoke to them and they asked me for my agreement number which I have no idea and told them they should have it on their pc.

They said they would call me back when they have found it.
I told them, just accept that I am changing suppliers, and send me the relevant forms, but she said we have to have this number first.

What a load of Scottish crap!!!!
