who would have enjoyed this.
I have been studying St. Brigid. A tradition from Tipperary...a place Ummmm loved so this reminded me of her and how much she is missed is that we must place a scarf outside tonight so Brigid can touch it as she passes. The scarf is then kept until it's needed to cure a headache or a sore throat.
Dave is looking at me sideways and won't do the same with his trouser belt so it can protect him on a fishing trip. I will remedy that when he is asleep.

Yes, Barry. That was a big shock and bloody unfair. We loved to banter about our beloved counties.
did she found the Bridgettines? - or another Bridget
Big founder of monasteries - for men or women. I read that women had monasteries as well as convents....
Question Author
She did found unisex monasteries, PP. A wild woman and a feminist.
Bridgittines? Not sure. She was Swedish I think or Sweden adopted her but I'll get round to that bit.
Well thanks to her we now have another Bank Holiday!
I know nothing of her history only about the little crosses the kids brought home from school.

In fascinated by her history, MrsLB. I don’t bother about saints other than we got lots of days off school but this one is different.
I miss ummmm, she was nice but took no prisoners.

My mum was a catholic, I don't know much about religion but she had to pick a saint at some point.
She chose Winifred, mum told me that she had been beheaded and came back to life. My mum was un-mum like.

We had to choose a saint name at confirmation, Wolf. I chose Theresa because she had a nice bunch of flowers.
Theresa Green?
I looked up Theresa and found this amusing paragraph about her parents.

"Louis and Zélie met in early 1858 and married on July 13 of that same year .... At first they decided to live as brother and sister in a perpetual continence, but when a confessor discouraged them in this, they changed their lifestyle and had nine children."
One day paracetamol will reach Ireland and you'll wonder why you put yourselves through this stuff.
I miss ummm too. She told it like it was! A really kind hearted person who in real life was very shy and she never boasted about her charity work.
Banish saints with Paracetamol
a head ache for the Pope, solved!

er not sure if it will make out

Worship of the Dead ( dia del los muertos) has become stronger and not less. PERHAPS because the Celts already had Valhalla and heaven just was Valhalla and added angels and archangels.....
I thought of ummm the other day. I wondered if jth knew how her family are .

We grew on each other over the years :-)
And now I'm wondering where jth is...she's not been on recently. Or I've not seen her.

I too miss ummm for all the above reasons even though I didn't interact with her that much. I liked her meals also ;)
I have a couple of recipes ummmm posted in response to some foodie questions I asked. I think of her every time I get my recipe folder out, and times in between too, she was a great girl and someone I’d love to have met in real life.
I too have wondered how Ginge and the family are doing.
/////and now I'm wondering where jth is...she's not been on recently. Or I've not seen her.////

Fear not , although not a regular poster, she checks into AB almost on a daily basis, to keep an eye on us.
We were planning to meet and she wanted meet her Mum who lives near me at the coast and is my age. She thought we would get on. I'm so sorry it didn't happen.
How do you know, sqad?
Been on today.
