Bob, a little trivia for you - when Stevie met the late Tom Petty's first wife, Stevie asked her how old she was when they met. Mrs Petty said 'At the age of seventeen...' but with her strong southern accent, it sounded to Stevie as though she said 'At the edge of seventeen.'
The phrase stuck in her mind, and became the hook for a song.
