If Israel and Australia can compete in the Eurovision then surely we can. It's nothing to do with the EU.

The only reason for watching the abysmal performance was to hear Terry Wogan artlessly taking the mickey. Now that he is gone so has the reason for the whole show.

Long time since we did very well at Eurovision, all a bit political nowadays. But from the past.

The UK have never been successful in a European songwriting contest because we are more influenced by the US pop/jazz/blues/soul style of writing.
Ireland still have their own folk storytelling style of writing which is more appreciated by European folk genres, hence Ireland’s success in the competition.

This years UK is again more US pop (complete with American sports cars) than a song that says anything about the UK. Sadly the wrong song for this competition.
