reminds me a bit of Finbar Furey's Lonesome Boatman, but I prefer Finbar's music, the panpipes made me feel drowsy, so I looked this up, always loved it

It's certainly a moving performance, and perhaps you would like Bach's alternative (from which the opening appears a bit derivative).

Beautiful listening everyone, The Lonely Shepherd is a beautiful piece and has been used in many films and even has a Rap version (not dared listen yet).

Written by James Last in the 70s.
