Hey,
I was in the smae position as you last night mate, you need to contact your bank ASAP, as this website isn't legit, or at least doesn't seem that way but would you like to take the chance. I spoke to festival republic today aswell and they have actually blacklisted the company, and for anyone who doesn't believe me, phone them for yourself.

Also, if you look at the website a little closer it becomes quickly apparent, it isnt one of a proper website. Last night it allowed me to purchase 999 tickets, which is kinda wierd considering the event is sold out. Once you select the tickets, you go onto the payment server, which isn't secure which again leads me question the legitmacy of the website. For that reason alone you should contact your bank. Finally, the website has a London telephone number but a registered address in Spain.

For all the above reasons, i decided that the website was fraudulent website, i was lucky i managed to contact the bank within an hour of the transaction which meant the money hadnt yet been authorised. But if, like me you agree that it doesnt seem right, and they've taken the money already, dont worry too much, most banks have some sort of insurance available.

But, please take note of my advice, do you really want to risk losing all that money? i certainly didnt. Oh yeah, after all this if your still want tickets, festival republic are releasing a second batch of tickets soon, so if like me you're gunning for one of them, GOOD LUCK.

Hope that helped and hope it all works out fine and if you have any more questions just ask, i'll be happy to answer them for you.
Quite why anyone would buy a ticket from a random site on the internet staggers me.

Not really very helpful squarebear, and like redheadisbac said doesnt answer the question, so why comment, dont want your opinion want answers
squarebear is making a very good point.

Any criminal can set a web site up in minutes and offer anything for sale. They dont have to prove they are a legitimate company or that they have the product you may want to purchase.

Dealing with a company on the web you have never heard of is asking for trouble.

After all, if you were walking down your high street and a guy said "give me 200 and I will bring some Reading tickets round your house tonight", would you give him 200.

Of course not. So dont give web scammers 200 (or whatever) when you have no idea who they are.

Maybe too late for this time but a VERY good lesson to learn for next time.
Thanks vhg. You have more patience than I.

I am amazed that people will willingly hand over their credit card details first, and THEN ask if the site is legit.

I've just seen another one here:
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Shopping/Questi on544978.html

Redhead - the site named was sosticketmaster.com NOT ticketmaster.com They are as much related as I am to the Pope.

Pinkfish - I'm afraid you've learned a costly lesson here but if it's advice you want, I advise you check your bank staements for unusual transactions and don't hand your personal details and money over to someone you've never met. As vhg says, you wouldn't do it in real life, so why do it on the net?

"a fool and his money...."
i'm in the same position here, but since I can't find anyone who hasn't managed to get tickets they've ordered off this site, then it's all hearsay really. Looking through the site at the tickets advertised there are some for gigs last month including Lenny Kravitz on 13/3 and Scouting For Girls from the 24/3. I can't find any complaints from people who didn't get their tickets.
I did try to stop the transaction with my card issuer, however they have let it through and put it as disputed. I should be covered for the ticket and the interest accrued during this period. Ask your card issuer.
I now have to wait and see if the ticket comes, or do I? I have been to the police, as fraud is a criminal offence. However the police told me this isn't a criminal matter yet, and advised me to ring trading standards and see if they hold anything on them. If they do, it may become a criminal matter, so ring trading standards.
If you are on low income you may be entitled to legal aid, check it out.
At the end of the day if they are fraudulent, we should not be powerless. It may be that the police can chase them up, which means that the CPS should also be able to obtain damages for all of us. This is not an ideal situation as the Police will have to catch them and they may have ran, declared themselves solvent, etc. Plus we may get less than we lost and this takes a long time.
To chase the case individually is obviously costly, unless you can get legal aid. And again there may be the same problems.
Finally, the credit card issuer can become liable too for this, which seems to me to mean that they will pay for the purchase and interest if they do turn out to be fraudulent.
Anyway, i'm just a law student so don't take my word on it, but that's what i'm relying on.
Squarebear and vhg - yes point made, but you think people who got ripped off don't already feel bad enough? Was the question 'what valuable lesson have i learned
if your not sure about it id go to your bank and see if you can get that money retracted or something.. i hate the fact you have to be uber areful on the interent now bcuz of fraudsters.. i hope everything worked out for you!!
