Been really bad the last couple days in Perthshire. There must be a high risk of flooding-even part of Tescos car park was flooded tonight (thats a first).
Apparently the bridge at the Dartford crossing is closed because of the winds,

There are massive delays for cars heading for the north of England ...

... ie from Kent, into Essex.
-- answer removed --
Interesting, as the bridge is used when travelling from Essex to Kent...
lol@JJ
Don't worry folks, Kent's had it really bad today. Fortunately I was on the train, the A20/M20 was closed into Dover, an artic blew over on the high section. Lovely now - clear skies, etc. More promised on Saturday!
Yes, but all the southbound traffic is being sent through the tunnel, you see.
Newcastle and Scotland? Well, with diet of Newcy Brown, haggis, neeps and tatties, I'd expect plenty of wind ;-)
It's really really blowing a gale here, very noisy , glad I don't have to pick my son up from work tonight, I get scared driving when trees are swishing all over the place with the wind,
the Dartford bridge crossing is for cars heading south, isn't it? Tough luck that those south of the river won't be able to get decent food or go to interresting theatres and exhibitions until the weather calms down, but they can always resort to cannibalism.
lol Chris -specially as im just off to have mashed neep for my dinner (honestly) :)
> Newcy Brown

Traffic England is estimating journey delays at 2 hours:

Yes, jno ... but, as I explained to Mark, apparently the southbound traffic is now having to use the tunnel.

Trouble at the Dartford Crossing. People in the north always get the rotten luck.
Don't get me worried, Mark!

Oh, you meant NEWCASTLE brown...
I get scared when driving in high winds.Every road where I live seems to be tree lined and ive seen the results of branches coming down-hence my fear :(
Newcastle Brown is no longer available ?

So does that mean no more Lindisfarne concerts ???
All the traffic's using the Dartford tunnel, two lanes each way. The backlog is going back as far as the Blackwall tunnel at the moment. Ferries are disrupted, as the A20's been closed, all the artics are coming through the old Folkestone Road into Dover at the moment.
Newcastle Brown is still available - there is no such drink as Newcy Brown.

Lindisfarne split up for the last time several years ago.
