Please stop voting for Anne Widdecombe - enough's enough!!! She's not even a nice person or got a sense of humour. Someone good is going to leave because of her. I feel embarrassed just watching her galumph about. Am I on my own by wanting the prize to go to someone who DESERVES it????

Never watched it except the parody on Harry Hill;s TV burp which was bloody funny

Well she's better than Wagner..............
arent we all!!!
Not being obtuse but I find her very funny-she parodies herself and is quick witted.Im sure she puts as much effort as she can into it and it doesnt surprise me that people at home think good on ya gal !!!

Wagner is a different story -he's not personable at all and people are just voting for him to get up Simon Cowells nose (I know you didnt mention him-just put my tuppence worth in lol)
How do you know that Anne Widdecombe is not a nice person?
how can a parody be funny if you've never watched what it is parodying?
1st posted Sun 31 Oct 2010 in media & tv,
I repeat ----

oscarina quotes ''Tina wasn't the worst dancer but it is a public vote'', do we actually know it's a public vote, just because they tell us it is ? is the public vote count actually monitored by an independant panel ? It all seems rather a farce to me, I always thought the programme was a dancing competition,it seems to be more like a circus now that they have started to introduce clowns.Anne is a very nice lady, but no way is she a dancer,& to bring her into the programme for laughs is an insult not only to her but to the public in general. Let's have votes on dancing ability.Ron.
no-one held a gun to her head to make her take part did they?? it appears to me that she's getting a lot of fun out of taking part.
i agree with redhelen, it's an entertainment programme and she and anton are very entertaining. i doubt there's much chance she'll win the glitterball, but i'm extremely pleased that she's still in it and some of the poorer dancers have been voted out - i just wish smarmy, flirty 'aren't i wonderful' felicity kendal would go soon, i'd much rather watch ann than felicity!!
bednobs come again ?
Just to clarify my understanding of parody -she pre-empts what the judges caustic comments will be.She knows people are having a laugh at her expense so rather than sit in a corner and cry she comes out fighting and takes the flak before its lashed at her.She knows that the p1ss is being ripped out her but she tries her best and then has to laugh at herself.
BTW -if you cant stop being so bleeding nippy then take time out.I think we all sympathise/empathise but man you aint half bitter and I dont blame you but why have a go on here all the time ?
Dris, I may be sticking my beak in but I think the parody query was aimed at Dotty.
Wondered Mamya-thanks ♥
Sorry dris, i have no idea what you are talking about, seriously, have i upset you somehow? if i have then i wholeheartedly apologise - if you would care to point out my questions or answers that have upset you, then perhaps i can understand what you are talking about and moderate them in future so as not to upset you? I can't actually remember any answers i've given on here that are bitter or "nippy" and will go and have a look now at my previous answers that have crossed with yours in order to try and understand what you are going on about.

The parody that dotty is talking about is on another programme. If something is a parody, it is taking the mickey out of or making fun of the original. What i was querying was, how can a parody of something be funny to someone who has never seen the original? It was a serious question, not meant in a "bitter" way at all and don't really understand how that comes across as bitter. Again, it would genuinely be helpful to me if you could point out how it is bittter or what i am doing wrong to incur your wrath
just had a look at the last 20 questions i have been involved in. With the possible exception of my first answer on this thread:
http://www.theanswerb...s/Question955362.html
I feel they have all been contributed to by me in a positive, non bitter way. Even that one i would not call bitter just exasperated!
Off now to look at the other ones i have answered or asked recently
just had another quick look at the next 60, all of which are answering the question (in what i thought was a helpful way), asking for more information, or 1 pointing the poster to the right section to post and I will concede that that answer was probably a bit "nippy" seeing as i had already pointed it out to the same poster on more than 1 occasion.
TBH i can't be bothered to go back more than my last 80 odd posts to see what may have led you to believe i am bitter, but i am genuinely interested to know what is peeing you off, cause if it's peeing you off, it's probabl;y peeing other people off too, and despite what you might think, it's not my mission in life to make everyone as miserable as me, and perhaps i can moderate something in order to please other people?
Doesnt matter bednobs so long as youre getting there and it'll be good to see you getting back on track so long as it takes.I meant no harm to you but you have been sharp -in that respect I can empathise as at one point I also thought 'and you have effing problems?????' -not your words but similar and I thought -I so know where youre coming -from as I have felt like that for a few years although i'm more tolerant now.I used to come on here and want to chew the heads off some nonsensical threads where people were attention seeking as my life had fallen about me and I had the job of rebuilding 3 lives. My friends caught me up short and warned me that I was being intolerant and bitter and I had to take a step back-bitter pill to swallow when yer mates have to catch you on.
Anyway I was just noticing you were nippy -im sorry.Take your time and take it easy.
i get your answer, but still don't really get the "bitter". I am just being me.
if a parody makes you laugh, I guess it's funny, whether you've seen the original or not.

Ann Widdecombe says she's having a great time

http://www.guardian.c...ctly-come-dancing-fun

She's always seemed a very interesting person to me, someone who doesn't follow the crowd. (Of course this doesn't necessarily make you a great dancer, but still...)
I've not watched any off it...neither parody or Strictly........so can't judge.
But bedknobs seems her regular self-if that helps.
as i said in my post, i think she works just as hard as the others, it will just always be that 60 odd year old large women dance less well than 20 year old flibberdygibbets!
