Thought contributors to my previous threads might be interested to know that Mrs Flop received details of her conviction this morning.

5 Points and a £650 fine including the £15 Tax.

Isn't it Interesting how Harman received a fine £300 less and with two less points for Careless Driving having previously been convicted in 2007 and 2008 for speeding, and yet this was Mrs Flop's first offence and a lesser 'crime' than Careless Driving.

Do magistrate's operate two sets of sentencing guidelines? One for Government Ministers and one for the rest of us.

As I understand it, Harriet Harman was parking her car between two parked cars at the time and no damage was done to any car. Compare that to doing 98mph, the time it would take to come to a halt at that speed and the consequences if failing to to so, I would not say the fines were wrong.
nearly 100mph? In all honesty, I think that's not a bad penalty. Harman wasn't doing anything very dangerous.
However, after submissions by her legal team, Miss Harman was given three points, to add to the six points on her licence, and a £350 fine.

Legal experts said she had got off lightly because she was charged with only one offence, rather than two for causing an accident and driving while on the phone.

Nick Freeman, the lawyer nicknamed “Mr Loophole” for his ability to secure reduced penalties for clients, said: “She has been treated incredibly leniently. If she was my client, I would consider it a fantastic result.”

we on answerbank never speed . errrrrrrrrrrrr
I thought that the worst possible motoring offence you could possibly commit was using a mobile phone??? rumour is it's going to be 6 points just for picking your nose too

Harman was prosecuted for Careless Driving. This is a more serious offence than speeding.

Don't believe me? Then I'd suggest ringing your insurance company and see the difference in premium between an SP prefix offence and a CD prefix offence.
