After the Pope's latest pronouncement could it be that he's trying to entice disaffected Anglicans to the Catholic fold?

possibly; but I think he's just trying to reinforce traditional Catholic doctrine. I think he's out of step with the modern world on this, but I could be wrong - maybe it's just with the Protestant world.

I tend to agree with you there JNO, fcuk the rain forrest I wanna 4x4! ;-)
I do feel there are more important things to worry about than gay parishiners and that he could have made his point without reference to homosexuality and reached a far wider audience with his message.
