I own a Vectra 2ltr TDI, the car seems to be self bleeding when i try to start the car, i have been told that there is air getting into the fuel system, but when a friend checked the fuel he found oil in the diesel, does anyone know how can oil get into the fuel?

A common problem with these is the diesel bleed off pipes become brittle where they meet the injectors this allows air into the system causing bad starting. I have never come accross oil in the diesel on this type of vehicle.
