Does anyone know that if i buy a sat nav, can i use it in one or more cars? or is not possible. during the day i would have it in the van, and at weekends move it to the car.just need a basic one not to fancie.

Sat nav is usually a small, portable device that can be used in any vehicle by anyone.

So yes, it will do for both your vehicles.
Any of the TOM TOM GO range. Move from vehicle to vehicle in less than 2 minutes...............or even use it to carry with you as a handheld as they have a (rechargeable) battery life of circa 4 hours. Halfords, Comet etc to see thyem or here to sort ouit:

I've been using a 300, (now 310, I think), for over a year in my car, wife's car, and hired vans etc. V good.
yep, unless you buy a car with it inbuilt, they are portable units that just stick via a suction pad to your windscreen.
Got a tom tom and a navman at work. the tom tom is more user friendly, but the navman has speed cameras on it too (Although I hink some of the tom toms do too).
