I opted for one of these about 10 years ago at a cost of 117 (so its probably more expensive now, possibly proportional with inflation).

It is however far cheaper than being prosecuted for careless driving or whatever, this usually being the alternative.

thanks tigga, the police have said he would be better to admit to careless driving and agreeing to do an intense course, do you still get points on your licence for this.
You will see under the terms of the insurance policy that you are obliged to inform the insurer of all accidents and prosecutions.

When your son applies for insurance again he will be asked if he has been involved in any accidents during the previous x amount of years. He will be obliged to tell them of this accident.
Expect to pay 150 for the one and a half day course.

It is an alternative to the prosecution, so the charges will be wiped out, unless he fails to attend the course.
Question Author
thanks for your quick reply, he will definatley do the course.
