Related to a Q below, I was wondering what induces people to believe they own the road outside their house? Why do they think they alone have a right to park outside their own house? I just think it's case of non joined up thinking.

Loosehead, you are right ,it really p****es me off when I see someone has put traffic cones outside their house to reserve their " parking space". To be honest it is like a red rag to a bull for me,and I will remove the cones ,either put them in my car or toss them to one side and park my car there even if I have further to walk . My car is insured and taxed and I have every right to park on a public highway,so long as I am not breaking any laws. I think it must be the same type of people who never indicate at roundabouts or junctions, and are always talking on their mobile phone whilst driving , and complain when they get a speeding ticket when the drive past a speed camera.

I have done this several times and when the owner of the cones says anything to me I just say "now I know where you live, if there is any new scratches or dents on my car when I return I'll be knocking on your door !!! " They usually go away with their tail between their legs !!

happened to me before, and told them that a brick or fire bomb through there window would be far worse than damage to my car. That usually gets them thinking!
violent approach seems to be the best! might have to try it out lol
