Just been reading Webbo's post in news re: P.E.
Who here enjoyed P.E in school? Anyone NOT enjoy it?
All through my schooling I detested P.E. When we had footie, I was always stuck in goal because I just couldn't be arrised to chase around a big lawn after a bag of air. Hated football (and sport) then, still hate it now.

Hated it in school, I never got picked because I was rubbish although i did play rugby after I left and loved it.
Got hit in the guts with a baseball bat off me PE teacher. Little frat.
Would have loved to have bumped into him a few years later!
Loved it.
I hated it. We had so many resources where we lived - moorland, sea, surf, countryside and what did we do? Play boring hockey and netball.
I am in similar vein. When during my first rugby lesson I was told that I had to throw the ball backwards and not forwards I gave up. Fortunately I had a medical condition which allowed me to be excused games. Didn't mind PE though. We used to play pirates.
I loved hockey and hated poncing about it netball. I got banned in it, so had to play volleyball instead, which was fine.
Where does one go to be proficient at curling?
Or Bobsleigh? Or Dressage?
Only got a patch of grass around here!

The hairdresser's of course.
I've done dressage, eventing, etc, but not at school.
Can I get a sports grant for bobsleigh lessons? Sure think I could win gold if the daft taxpayers shelled out to support me!
I used to be ok at gymnastics and middle-distance running, but anything involving a ball was a nightmare for me. I never tried to skive off though. My sister used to forge notes from our mum to get her off PE.
Loved it. PE, Cricket, Rugby, Cross Country, Swimming, Boxing, all of it. Take me back please and let me partake again.
Theland, I think you need to be in Scotland to have a chance at curling.
For bobsleigh, you think you could win gold? :) You have to be very muscly to be the guy at the back, or be very fast and good at steering if you want to be the one in front.
You could still do it, Togo. Join some clubs.
I loved gymnastics, hated netball, athletics and hockey and running round the track which we had to do at the start of every games lesson but nothing was so awful as communal showers. Absolutely dreaded them.
Must get myself a bobsleigh thingy or make myself one from old cereal boxes.
I deserve a chance.
Who DOES pay for their equipment and trainings
Here's 10 grand now go out and race bait.

Sport (football and rugby in particular) has been fantastic for race relations.

Get a real job.
Theland, a lot of elite athletes have funding from the National Lottery. Their sports federations get some money from the government too.

Now that I'm an official member of the U3A, I can partake in the following activities offered by my local group.
