When I used remote to lock the door my driver wing mirror closed in but shuddered. Now when I unlock with remote the wing mirror goes back too far. Any ideas why and can I fix it

may help to mention the year & model etc

Haven't seen a wing mirror on a motor for ages, how old is it?
Baldric, if its a remote that also operates the mirror you know its pretty modern
you also know that she means a door mirror :-)
Maggie01 - why not de-activate the folding process -problem fixed ;-)
Sounds like someone has knocked it off its mounting slightly. Probably just needs a bit of a push to seat it back on the mount.

There's always some smart ads. Of course it's a remote controlled wing mirror. It's a 56 model. Does de activating it just involve a fuse?

Had the same problem a while ago, solved it by using Zacs-master's method.

Be worth checking your handbook, the fuse might cover more than just the mirror

Now that's what I call wing mirrors!
;o)

I'll try giving it a push thanks
It's hard to get info from people who can't tell the difference between a wing mirror and a door :o)

Take more water with it baldric
Apologies maggie and a bit off your topic but Baldric, wing mirrors really were better than door mirrors, the last car I had with them was a Mark 2 Jaguar (like Morse's). You can keep looking ahead and still see into them from the corner of you eye, unlike those on the door which need you take your eye off the road to use.

Useful suggestion offered @ 16:46, and that's the reply I get, cheers!

I apologise. They are not actually on the wings anymore .just thought they were still called wing mirrors. Thank you all for replies
Maggie, I still call them wing mirrors as well, as do most people I know.
so its a 56 reg, still don't mention the make & model Mags.
on some vehicles you can deactivate/reprogram without removing the fuse,
look in the cars handbook.
or just lube it & give it a push
