Yes, they sodding well are stupid. And they can't even be bothered to speak English either. Deserve all they get. And it's not the other side of the road, it's the WRONG side of the road.

thats right sod the m25, even those yanks have to mess up the queens english.
Actually we in UK drive on the "wrong" side off the road.. only a few countries, Australia,Japan (and Malta I think) drive on the left.. most countries drive on the right. (yes thats right.. we drive on the left with mainly right hand drive cars)
This question has previously been answered.
Years ago ppl rode horses and as most ppl are right handed, so rode on the left so the right hand was free to hold a spear, malice, etc to fight any oncoming enemies.

don't care what you say Kev_uk, we are right, they are wrong

Most countries used to drive on the left-hand-side of the road because of what Kev_UK wrote about most horsemen were right-handed.  Many swapped to the right for a number of different reasons (see link below).

Currently 1/4 of the world drive on the left (74 countries - 4 billion drive on the right, 2 billion on the left).

Here's a very interesting link explaining why people drive on the left and others on the right.

well you never see a roundabout in america. I know the americans think we are weird when they drive over here because they don't understand the roundabouts. Much like ourselves sometimes. Why do we have them anyone know. I can just imagine these poor souls driving round and round not knowing where to get off.

If you don't like roundabouts, try this one:

thats one cool ass roundabout steveD, could have loads o fun on that baby

The site that Kebab Meister recommends includes this gem:

Visitors are informed that in the United Kingdom traffic drives on the left-hand side of the road. In the interests of safety, you are advised to practise this in your country of origin for a week or two before driving in the UK.

What do the police think in those countries?

Incidentally it only took one country to change the majority from the left drivers to the right drivers (China about 50 years ago).

Americans have "4-way stops" instead of roundabouts.  They work very well, unless (like me) you're from the UK, come to a four way stop on two dual-carriageways, and havn't a clue where you are meant to be getting out of it at! Very scarey!
I was in Canada and USA last October.. I was told (by my Canadian wife.. ex wife now) that in Canada you have to come to a full stop at a 4 way stop and wait for.. 3 seconds (i think thats the time she said) , whoever is at the junction 1st has priority, if both arrive at same time, usualy the other car flashes light or sounds horn to tell you to go. (Can't see that working in UK as a lot of inconsiderate drivers around).
She refered to the "american stop".. which is not a complete stop, but car still rolling very slowly.

BTW, In Malta they drive on the side of the road where the shade is.. that's true.. my sister went there.
