the Zodiac was a subsection of the Zephyr at first wasn't it, FredPuli? Like Cortinas were Consuls.

I could only aspire to such luxury cars, of course, I learnt in a Minor on the back roads outside a village. I sat the test on the same roads, don't think I saw another car the whole time, and passed with some ease.
A J4 van and laterly an Mk2 Escort van with some hours on Transits.
1991 Nissan Micra.
I learnt on a Triumph Toledo, with extra practice in my Mum's Triumph 1300
Had it got soggy springs so that it went boing boing, Hopkirk lol.
That reminds me of a true story hopkirk, my wife worked in a Triumph show room this posh lady came in complaining her new car kept cutting out, a mechanic went with her on a drive and the first thing she did was pull the choke out and hang her hand bag on it :-)
Yes, jno, I'm pretty sure it was. As for learning on a luxury car, my father owned a garage, and always had a choice of those for himself, but when it came to me he found a Reliant, then an old Triumph Herald. He wasn't trusting a 17 year-old with anything at all powerful or expensive to repair ! It was a few years before I was allowed anything as big as two litres, at which point he got me a Bond 2 litre. Now that was lethal, but not because of the power. It had suspension which belonged on a Herald ! I eventually graduated to Triumph Stags, which together took the prize for worst cars I've ever driven (or not driven; they had endless faults)
An old 100 E Ford Prefect.

I say Bond. Thinking again, I think it was a Reliant 2 litre. Anyway it had a special body, which I think was fibreglass, and none the safer for that.
Bond Equipe, Fred ?.
That's it Tony. I knew it was a maker associated with three-wheelers !
Still hanker after a primrose yellow Sunbeam Alpine
Yes they had used to make three wheelers, Fred, I think Reliant took them over.
Right, I'll sort one out for you then Daisy.

Couldn't find you a Primrose Yellow one, Daisy. Is Red OK, could all ways have it resprayed.
A Ford Prefect.
Ford Corsair, column change, front benchseat.
My father's Ford Zodiac., with a column change. Thinking about the bench seat in the front, how dangerous was that? Three people side by side and no seat belts.
Austin J2
