Would it pass the MOT with ABS light on?
Question Author
No
That's why no one is interested.
Fixed Or Repaired Daily. Seriously, is the ABS light all that's mechanically wrong with it? I get a car regularly through an MOT with that unsolvable problem (I had someone fiddle with the wiring).
Dodgy mare ....... never buy a used car off Prudie

Apart from what I have stated Prudie, there are no Problems whatsoever, these cars are not the best of sellers, Re/ what you have said, I would never sell a car that had problems, ( I'm not a dealer) the ABS+ light is an MOT Requirement.
I wouldn't try to sell mine on either. Where have you advertised? That sort of cheap deal would go really quickly on our notice board at work.
Try the owners club they are likely to have a page for buying and selling.

I know of someone who cured the problem by removing the bulb – result, MOT pass.
can you not have the ABS repaired? it may improve the resale if it has 12 months MOT
I was told if your MOT tester is on the ball just removing the bulb would be a fail - the light is expected to come on for a few seconds, as with all the other warning lights, when the ignition is first on and then go out.
That is correct Prudie.
Do you really think that an MOT tester is going to check that all the warning lights illuminate when the ignition is first energised?

But they will see that it is on, when it should not be.
People these days want cars that are cheap to run - using little fuel.

A 13 year old 2400cc car doesn't fit that.
Cougar was never a great seller when they were new...never quite took off and to be honest you dont see that many on the road.
Also some of the body panels/bumpers are quite expensive(if they are still available) and there are not any non-gen alternatives...which really says it all.

It went to the highway in the sky today! " Scrap" not the best of cars to bye folks.
Oh that's sad TWR, try to think of all the good times your son had with it. x

Scrap Value Prudie, £180, I could not be bothered repairing the car, it will teach my son an expensive lesson, do not again, bye a model like that. x
The only Cougars I've seen in the last 3 years have been on Banger racin tracks. Apparently they're brilliant for that.
