We're having Leg of lamb with all the trimmings when he gets home this evening. May need to get a damn good red to accompany - any recommendations?

What's on your menu?

NB... Courtesy car should be here this afternoon and other driver has admitted full liability :)

good to hear about the car, NoM

The ones I recommended last night? Otherwise for something more bog standard, a Nostra Gran Riserva from Chile, a delish Cab Sauv around 8-50 or their Riserva, a Carmenere @ 6-50

There's a couple of e-mails over on alfie by the way as to what we were chatting about......

Okay, I'll send you an email back later.
Ginge has just gone and bought the ingredients for a fry up. That'll probably do us....just snacks later.
I've now test driven the Aldi Ribera del Duero a couple of times - astonishing value for £5.49

Last time I had stirfry I put way too many chillies in it. :(

Dave, I love Ribera del Duero. Does anyone know if the supermarkets are open today?
for me a pasta melt with chicken and pesto......out for supper later.

This afternoon I'm looking to finish a commission drawing of my local pub that has taken some 10 hours to date, effectively three buildings in one......then its onto the next one, a pretty local church door for a wedding - prints and cards being given by a sister to her brother and future sister-in-law for pressies and thank-you cards...however, the weather forecast is shyte for the rest of the week.
Not a stir fry...a full English :-)

I won't be having a full English though...I don't have bacon or sausage...
yes to about 6 - M&S, Sainsbury's, Tesco's, Coop all open here....
Paddywak saw a humungous cauli in the green grocers on saturday and made me cook it yesterday. I don't care what he does with his half but I'm making a cheese sauce for myself to have with mine later, after the pub that is! Have a great day everyone.
I'm having paprika chicken with Jersey Royals later. Had a jacket potato earlier so I may be over-doing it with the potatoes today. Never mind :o)
Jubilee Pork Pies for lunch - my butcher has produced a special set :

Red - with loads of chilli
White - a standard one - sort of very pale grey really
Blue - with added black pudding

Very impressive & should be good with Jersey Royals, home made coleslaw and assorted relishes.
We are having vegetable pizza and salad today.
Cauliflowers are really cheap at the moment. My friend bought a huge one the size of a dinner plate the other day, from a local farm shop. it had been fresh picked that morning and was only 50p.
Ideal for homemade cauliflower cheese to feed all the family! Yum!

OOoh ... I know someone who likes cauliflower cheese...
ME !!!
... with brown sauce and chips :+)
I make cauliflower cheese with sliced potatoes. It's lovely.
I love cauliflower cheese.
if it's homemade, yes.....like homemade macaroni (or tagliatelle) and cheese, for that add in some sauteed leeks, panacetta or bacon, cover with cherry toms and bake - oh and some chilli or chipotle pepper in it...........
Go for the Ribera del Duero @ Aldi

Stores are open until 6pm, but whether your local store still has some...

Have a lovely day, NoM. {{HUG}}
