Motorbikes queuing?

Earlier today I was in a long single lane slipway waiting to get petrol at Tesco. 6 of the 12 pumps were not in use so we moved forward vey slowly. I was quite miffed when a motorbike came past everyone and went to the front of the queue. I understand this when in a traffic jam but when waiting for a service I think it's selfish. Moaned at OH when I got home and he thought the opposite to me and said that's the advantage of riding a bike and it woudn't have bothered him at all. Who would you side with?

Agree with you prudie, same happened to me the other day - though not a motor bike, more a couple of lads on egg-whisks.

Thank you all - my dears! :-)
Think I'm with your husband. After all, the motorcyclist would have only wanted a fraction of the amount the average family car needs.

It's a bit like when you have a trolleyload of groceries at the checkout and you let the bloke with a single loaf of bread go in front. Well, I would, anyway.
I am on your side here, prudie. I know you, but I do not know the motorcyclist in question. Moving ahead in traffic is one thing, but jumping the queue at a petrol station is selfish, and very wrong. I know one biker who claimed to get 91 mpg from a 500cc, and could not even get £10 into the tank at one go!

Can anyone here beat this record?
Agree with you totally (and I'm a former biker).

However, with a lot of pumps, there are often 3 different nozzles (unleaded, super unleaded and diesel). If the biker parked between two vehicles and filled up whilst the people were paying, I wouldn't have too much of an issue
They should wait in line like everybody else, the fact that they can squeeze through does not make it right in any way shape or form!!
if there is an unused pump because access to cars is blocked by cars then I don't see why a motorcyclist shouldn't use it.
probably had enough of the motorists dithering. Some times a pump is free but blocked by a car but a bike can get through and use the pump. The trouble with garages these days is they are bleeding supermarkets too so instead of getting fuel and going they are in the shop buying things.
wouldn't find me doing that, i would wait or go elsewhere if possible, nowdays they expect you to remove your helmet as well - which can be a pain if you wear specs -
not like you can get more than £15/ £20 worth in a bike, i usually fill up then pull away from the pump to pay - leaving it free for others,
unlike car drivers *what Red-john says *
I am with you, they should have queued like everyone else.
Having used both I am definitely on your side, it is just bad manners and gets decent riders a bad name.

Its not like letting someone with less shopping go first Saxy as you usually tell them to nip in front, the biker has just jumped the queue like an arrogant kn*b
a queue is a queue regardless of how you happen to be in it.

not everyone fills their car to the brim everytime, sometimes the driver may only be having £5 or something...

i undestand if a lorry is blocking a pump and no other car will get to it for ages then yes, but otherwise no, wait your turn
the joy's of riding a bike, if i wanted to be in the queue i would have gone in the car
know one biker who claimed to get 91 mpg from a 500cc

I find that a little hard to believe

I ride a 180cc vespa and at best can get probably 65-70
i agree with you, but i would have got out of my car and told him that we were all in a queue and he should have joined the back of it like everyone else has to
You no doubt about it a queue is a queue.
Yep, the biker should have waited his turn, just basic manners i think.
