Frankie Dettori rode 6 consequetive winners at Santa Anita but had to settle for 3rd spot in his 7th race, unfortunately just falling short of repeating his 7 Ascot winners back in '96. He was also runner up in the Serby behind the hot favourite.

At 53, he is undoubtedly still one of the best there is.

Not many of them were expected to win, though, TTT, and he beat one or two odds-on jollies. The accumulative odds were 77,000/1.

Decent horses, maybe, but they have to be ridden accordingly to be in front at the business end of the race.

Horseracing isn't F1, you know.
