I always thought he was a bit creepy !
I quite liked Orville on the telly but Keith Harris lost it when his TV career ended. I saw him appear (with Orville) at Butlins in 1995, when he appeared to be intoxicated and spent most of the act referring to people he'd known on TV in a string a four-letter words.
I preferred the monkey, I thought orville was a bit of a whiney wimp

Saw Nookie Bear in Birmingham at a cabaret place, was it called the Night Out? This was back in the mid seventies. Took daughter with us (early teens) so embarrassing, he was so blue, I couldn't look at her, but she was roaring laughing.
Mrs. B says she prefers cuddles the monkey. Cuddles used to say I hate that dook!
