What happened to "Dynamite"? Could Cliff not hear his monitor speaker?

also a pity Elton not sound his usual self!
can't stand him personally but each to his own
Mc Cartney wasn't that good either.
EJ was in our 'back yard' the night before the Palace gig,so too cream crackered
he is another past his sell by date.
they don't use monitors they all have ear pieces and yes he was out of key with the band, not keen on cliff as a singer but that's not normal for cliff he's a stickler for his performance, i like him as a bloke though,
grace jones stole the show for me btw ..and shes 64 years old too
bless her
64 - blimey she's aged well.
one of the music scenes great eccentrics,i love her
I was disappointed they cut her from the highlights show next day, but left Lennox in.
i hope there was a problem with the sound, rather than all the singing royalty are too old?
I would guess he could just about hold it together -musically speaking- if seated and with decent monitoring.
Looks like it's all caught up with him (and his neck is looking more and more like an elephant's scrotum).
LOL^^^^.

Good answers guys -especially the first three.....! I am not a Cliff fan but was too afraid to say so ! Didn't wish to be 'flamed'
I agree it's time they hung up their larnyx's (?) Cliff,Elton and Paul - they've all had a very good run!
Sir Paul finished two Live Aid shows, this Diamond Jubilee bash, and next he closes the Olympics opening gig.

Grace Jones is well underrated ! -Love "Island Life".....I often used it as a 'benchmark' for sound quality when buying new bits of hifi....She is great artist!!
I think Cliff started out off but did improve a bit. Elton did'nt sound right but had spent the previous week in hospital with a lung infection so I think he can be pardoned. I don't much like Macca but he can still put on a show. The levels seemed all wrong even Tom Jones seemed to be struggling to be heard over the music.
There's been quite a bit of criticism about the performers at the Jubilee concert but what you must remember is, this concert was performed outside on a fairly chilly night.
There was also a lot of smoke about right from the beginning, and this can't be good for the voice.
All this and the fact they were performing before a huge noisy crowd, it's no wonder they didn't all sound their best.
