I listen to Talksport a lot and I think they encourage their presenters to be outrageous, or to come up with stupid ideas, just to make people phone in and contradict them.

If there are two of them in the studio (Mike Parry and Alan Brazil for example) and they are discussing a particular subject, like should McClaren be sacked, one of them always says strongly yes, the other says strongly no.

This is just to start off the argument and make sure people from both sides of the discussion phone in.

In fact I think Mike Parry comes up with stupid suggestions only to get people to phone in and tell him what an idiot he is.

Like the other day when he said that goalies should only be allowed out their area to go upfield for a corner etc if they remove their gloves and leave them in the goal.

While their gloves are off they become and outfield player and can only become a goalie again once they put their gloves back on.

What a prat.

yep,i think your right
I am not a fan of jon gaunt, but i think he is very good at what he does, winding people up , being an arrogant prat, and getting hundreds of people to ring up to insult him, and in return insulting them, people who ring Talk Sport tend to be cut off if they dont agree with the presenter, you get a much better phone in on Radio five live, at least people get chance to put their views over without being interrupted or cut off.
he had beef with iain lee of lbc, i had to side with iain lee ass jos is indeed a fat P***k
