Typical Eastenders, get characters in and before they settle get rid of them. This gansta based storylines are not helping either. Go On BBC axe the show altogether.

yes axe the show its the most depressing tv program ever
Ok it's been a bit lame recently but to axe it!??? Noooooo I've grown up with it! (well on and off)
are they really going. Shame, would rather they got rid of chrissie.  Do you think they'll ever axe it? They don't seem able to settle into a good stride at the moment, although if they keep switching characters it doesn't help.
Here, here!  Bring on Dr Who!
everybody is talking about it!  Sorry, just had to get that in!
Hi Englishbird, I don't know if they would axe it, a few years ago I would have said no way but these days who knows! I agree at the moment the storylines are weak  and they tend to drag on for way too long, don't you think? Whatever happens, I'd hate them to axe it, hmm maybe I need to get out more ;-)
They shouldn't axe it but go back to twice a week, the writers can't meet the demand for good storylines which is why the same old cr*p keeps coming round (gangster rubbish) and also why all the stories drag on for so long beacause they are being stretched out to fill up the episodes.

There is no doubt that EE is in a serious trough at the moment. bad characters, bad storylines and bad scripts have all combined to make viewing a testing, rather than pleasurable experience.

There is talk of bringing back Phil and Grant, let's face it, Ross Kemp has hardly covered himself in glory since his 'golden handcuffs' deal with ITV - only one of his projects has lasted more than one series, and that's the one where he went from playing a 'hard case' on BBC1 to ... er ... a 'hard case' on ITV - stretching the full range of his acting palatte in  the process!

The BBC ned to take a long hard look at EE and make a decision - either re-vamp it - seriously - or cut their (publicly funded rememebr) losss and get rid.

Who'd be a BBC producer!

No No No never axe EE - I would be bereft - and yes it's a miserable soap at present but my life is so happy I can take a bit of misery.
Eastenders is good for making you believe that your life is not as bad as it seems! It is a goverment conspiracy to make it depressing but also addictive.

It would be a huge admission of failure to bin it wouldn't it?

agree with Gevs1966 reducing the episodes might make better tv, although then the actors would presumably have to take a reduction in salary.  Can't see that going down well.

My suggestion is that the following characters should be axed :The Fowlers, The Beales, The Slaters, The Millers, The Ferrieras & Gus and Julie. These people should be replaced by Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Animal, Dr Bunsen & Beaker and the two old guys on the balcony....Anyone agree ?

the bbc are so wrong to get rid of these two characters they haven't had time to grow but they kept the ferriars for two years - if its true they got rid of them because of too many gangsters ponder the following :

a . they aren't gangsters - just work for one

carrying on from previous mail :

b. he's just killed andy - thats ok then bbc ?

c they are bringing back the rubbish mitchells why they going backwards ?
