I called up to get on the show and answered the question correctly, they then gave me a choice of 2 recording days and got me to leave my name and number. that was 2 weeks ago heard nowt, does anyone know what happens next? ie will they get back? the recording days were in February so maybe they'll leave it for now. I presume there must be further selection to go through, i mean mine was a very simple question so I guess most people will get it right.

They pick a number of people at random who have answered the first question correctly. They call them and ask another question. This will be something like 'How many winners did L Piggott ride during his racing career?' Then the people who are closest to the correct number are invited to appear on the show.

Getting the question right then being offered recording dates is standard for just getting the question right, like many of other people will.

As someone else says, there is another process. Then you have the day out doing a rehearsal etc then have typically a 5-1 chance of getting on (ie 2 people in contentants row usually in one show with another from a previous show). Then you have to get 15 questions right!

It's a good day out even if you don't get in the chair.

My tip from one of the production team at the time I went there was, if you get a question right and a list of days, go for an unpopular day like Tuesday or Wednesday as they get less response from those days.
