Does anyone know how I can get hold of tv shows in the BBC archives from the 70's- i was at stage school and in some of the TV christmas specials with Ken Dodd, Clive Dunn etc etc and we never had video recorders then  - I would love to be able to get copies from the BBC - HELP!!

As far as I know, programmes in the BBC Archives are not for sale to members of the public.

The cost would be beyond most people's pocket, once permission had been sort from the people involved in the show, paying them royalties, and having it thransfered to a format that you can play at home.

You would also have to know when the shows you were in were broadcast to track them down.

Apart from all that, chances are the programmes have been wiped anyway!

have you tried the bbc themselves, surely they'll help knowing you were in some productions.bbc.co.uk has a contact us at the bottom of the page. hope you're successful :)
