Good on her. She was a delightful person to meet, just as people say Di was. The media and public loved her and hated her in equal measure, but she used her media profile to highlight the issues of her plight, raise national debate and encourage action. Like with Di, there are alot of people in the UK who are deeply saddened by her passing and its circumstance, even those who had very little time for her.
Having met her myself on a few occasions, I can agee with what Steven Fry said subsequent to the line you have provided, you warm to her immensely. So perhaps we could put aside any prejudice that the media has influenced in you, or any prejudice that you have against cockney Londoners and people from the wrong side of the track, and just remember a life that culminated - hopefully - with the saving of many other women potentially destined for the same disease at some point in their lives.
RIP Jade xx
