Ok, we all remember Tiswas and Swap shop, Grange hill and Black Beauty. But what were the best tv shows ofr kids that you remember that wouldn't make the usual top ten popular polls?

My three would be
HR Pufnstuff,

Dick Turpin,

and the Beachcombers

was that the beachcombers with Sam kydd? with the acker bilk theme?
Blimey how mixed up is my head! I have always associated Sam Kydd with that show, the one you've linked to i have no memory of, maybe it wasn't shown in Granadaland! Certainly don;t recall it and I was a TV Addict

I remember the Jack Wild show being on every Sunday afternoon, but it didn;t last long, I was still at school then!
does anyone remember " White Horses?" .... it had a brilliant theme tune sung by some lady. For some reason I think it had a french connection, the kids were called belle and sebastian or something.....oh god that was soo long ago!
On white horses let me ride away
To a land of dreams so far away
Let me run
To the sun

My favourite horsey programme was Follifoot.
YES!!
but how on earth can you remember the words after so long?!!
i used to like Mr Ben at lunchtimes!
my kids are in complete bewilderment when i tell them we only had kids tv for a few hours each day and on saturday mornings. do you remember paddington was always the last thing of the day before the six o'clock news came on?
White Horses was sung by Jacky Lee(also Rupert the bear).
I thought Belle and Sebastian was a different program.
I used to like The Double Deckers.
Lol Nancy Boys, they wouldnt get away with that nowadays.
Hi Tiggs.
Francesca - it's a sign of old age. I can't tell you what I had for tea last night but ask me any obscure question from years ago......

Last week I took the kids to the National Media Museum in Bradford. They have books listing all the old programmes and you can pick one and then go into a mini cinema for 4 people and watch it. I made the kids sit through episodes of The Woodentops, Rag Tag & Bobtail and then Four Feather Falls. it was brilliant!
Hi Hua,

I was wondering if anyone would notice that! Lol xxx
i posed a question about old tv series and was linked to two sitesfor belle and sebastian and white horses so if anyone one wants to have a look see qestion asked before this one.
WHITE HORSES FANS....if you haven't already done so, check out one of the links in the post below this one.

As for my Programmes, Robinson Crusoe, the old Tin Tin Cartoons, and How.
Aarrrgggghhhh! I HATED White Horses! I think it's because it was Summer Holiday television. There never seemed to be anything half decent on...a bunch of kids on 'Why Don't You...?' then a load of old French or Eastern European stuff topped off by the truly terrifying Singing Ringing Tree!
I loved Arthur of the Britons with Oliver Tobais and Michael Gothard as Kai! Mmmmm!
You called postdog?
Does anyone remember The Flashing Blade?Another foreign one with great music.
Heidi, but I can't seem to find a link for it.
