I am thinking of going to see Van Helsing. Is it any good?

If it's got the lovely Kate Beckinsale in, it's got to be worth a look!! From what I've read the Special FX aren't up to LOTR standard, but overall it looks like a good way to escape reality for a while...

But UNDERWORLD had the beautiful Kate Beckinsale in it but what a waste of film and my time watching it. It had such potential. I will go see Van Helsing but I am sceptical of what its going to be like.

Saw it last night. Ms Beckinsale is indeed gorgeous but ... the production and effects are wonderful, the story is woefully inadequate, and the script is atrocious, so allowing for the downside, it is a good piece of escapism.

I thought Underworld was pretty good, but I agree it didn't fulfil its potential. Let's hope for more from the sequel.... BTW, I'm going to see VH tonight so I'll make an informed answer tomorrow!

Just seen it. KB is gorgeous, and the film is worth a look if all you want is a couple of hours of "brain off" fun.
