Hey, does anyone remember when this programme was broadcast on Halloween in 1992 I think? I came accross it while looking on play.com and have ordered it. I was about 11 years old at the time and I remember being utterley petrified and completey believed that it was true. Does anyone remember the hysteria that followed it? Was great TV. What are your thoughts?

I remember this - the banging on the pipes and the hysterical kids.

Goes to show we all believe what we want to. That's exactly why programmes like Most Haunted are so popular. Even when the producers admit it's a set up, some people still believe it!
The BBC have just down something very similar with the last episode of the spoof radio phone-in Down The Line.

The DJ is in a different studio than his normal one, there's strange noises on the phone in conversions that no one else can hear. Eventually he can't get in touch with his producer and someone is rapidly approaching his studio...........
I remember it well ~ it spooked me, and I was 23 years old!

I also remember my phone ringing during the programme, and as I was pretty engrossed in it I did what I usually did when a phone call interrupted an important TV programme..I turned off the sound and without thinking switched on the subtitles.

It took about 5 minutes for the penny to drop..lol ;o)
I remember this, I was 13 years old and it scared the bejesus out of me! I still get spooked when I think about it now - even thought I know it was a fake! Like you, I also believed it at the time and remember making my mum come up to the toilet with me that night and also sleeping with the light on for at least a week after!! I remember the public outrage when it was revealed that it was all faked - as though it would have been ok to have us all sh!**ing ourselves had it been real - weird huh?!
You're very brave to watch it again lol - enjoy!!!
i bought it a while ago.

prepare to feel absolutely stupid when you realise how bad it really was. i always new it was fake but it still scared me.

i was about 10 or 11 when it was on and it petrified me but watching it again 10 years later it does nothing.

Brilliant, I remember making my mum come up to the toilet with me to after I watched it and probably for about a month afterwards. lol. I'm probably going to be really disapointed when I watch it again. It's like everything, when your a kid everything seems some much more amazing and amplified. I'll probably laugh when I watch it now!
The scare factor has definately been lost on the second viewing.

I didn't find it amusing either..more...weird. LOL
Oh yes! I remember this. It was soo scary! Didn't the girl start talking in a weird voice too? I was only about 10 or 11. I'd love to see it again.
it was similar to the real events of that "enfield ghost" thing i watched on tv a few weeks ago?

anyone see that?

couldnt make up my mind if them girls were blagging in that??
i ,ve just brought it too and i was about 14 at the time and it scared the sh*t out of me anyway watched it the other night with my brother and my eldest son who's 13 and feel so stupid that I've been scared my it. Although i did scream again when Craig Charles jumped out of the cupboard. And Parky well I'll never believe anything he says again.
I watched that programme at my friends house when we were about 13, it scared the living daylights out of us, we switched it off when the girl started speaking in that weird voice, and because we didn't watch it till the end it wasn't until a few days later we found out it was a set up. I will never forget some of the things that happened in that programme, I never slept all night. I would love to see it again, just to see the ending which everyone said really gave the game away and like everyone else I will probably feel so silly about being so scared!!!!!!!

Thanks for all your input everyone. Great hearing how everyone felt when you all watched it as youngens. I'm really excited about watching it now, it was shipped out today so I'll have to contain my excitement a bit longer...yep your right I dont get out much!
it was filmed where I used to live in Northolt -South Ruislip area of Middlesex and I was too scared to watch it - but I was only about 23! I seem to remember Sue Cook presented it but maybe mistaken
