I'm not knocking it but I just can't understand why anyone would want to watch a film about the Queen. Can you ?

Me as a soldier swore an oath of aligence to the Queen. I am now a converted royalist and believe she is a wonderful woman. During the hard times of the 90's she could have abdicated but she has said it is her duty till death. I would watch it definetly.

I have seen it, it is very well done.

The actors involved do not attempt to 'imitate' the Royals they portray, but give a feeling of whom they are supposed to be - Helem Mirren's case, with great success.

As a possible insight into a very very private woman, it is a fascinating story, and should be approahced and enjoyed as such.

more interesting than watching films about Darth Vader, but that's just my personal opinion. I like films about hobbits, don't like films about car chases... and so on. Each to her own. This one is brilliantly acted and really quite moving (and I'm not a monarchist).
