I haven't got any but this came up through conversation.Is it possible to pick up a virus from an instant message that someone puts through to you on messenger that you have to accept or deny I don't mean from your already contacts.Thanks.

Probably not, no. Unless there's some huge flaw yet to be found in IM clients.
