Hi, My Mom bought a compatable memory card and installed it. She put everything together and all wires are connected but now the computer wont turn on. She has a compaq. She then took the card back out and still it wont turn on. The power light on the back of the tower is lit but when she turns the main switch button on nothing happens. Like i say she has power to the back and the moniter is lit but the computer wont turn on. Im trying to help her but i live 200 miles away. Do you think she may have hit a wire loose inside, its like the switch button dont work now. Any ideas?

Sounds as though she has disturbed a system panel connector. These are usually in a group situated near the bottom RH corner of the motherboard and accept the group of wires running from the PC case.

Hopefully she took anti-static precautions before she attempted this upgrade and has not caused even more serious problems by not doing so.
