The BBC have commisioned another series. Do you think it should be set in a different year or stay in 1973?

I'd like to see Gene's reaction to 2006 but I don't think that's going to happen! Excellent series IMO.

stay in 1973 definately - love the show!

I would be really tempted to place a big bet on the winner of the cup final though!!

In 1973 the FA cup was won by Sunderland beating Leeds UTD

I couldn't understand why he didn't place a bet on Red Rum winning the Grand National a couple of weeks ago.

Placing bets and playing the stock market would be my priority, knickers to policing!

I suppose it all depends on how the first series ends..I love the show, but am a bit frustrated to learn that we won't know what's going with Sam at the end of this one!

I love the 1973 setting, though. Mind you the other week I did spot a terraced house with leaded windows..very 90's, me thinks :o)

Is it early 73 or late 73. If late then they really missed a trick because the 73/74 season was when Denis Law scored for City to send United down - that would have been a great thing for Sam to say in the football episode

I'm very pleased that we're going to get a second series.

I think they should keep it in 1973 because if they brought it back to 2006 it wouldn't have half the charm. I think most of its success is nostalgia about the 70s with comparisons to the Sweeney and accompanied by great music.

Pippa We had leaded windows in the 70's. In terms of fashion and design - what goes around comes around!

I knid of knew that, gammaray ~ it just looked a bit odd in that particular street & on that particular house. My husband is a builder & also pointed out a factory type building with what looked like modern replacement windows. Certainly doesn't spoil any enjoyment anyway!

I was only 5 in 1973 so wouldn't really know much about what windows people had (apart from my council house back then ~ metal window frames, no central heating..BRRRRRRRR condensation!!)

I just hope they stick to David Bowie years. Maybe 1983 "Let's Dance" or 1976 "Station to Station".
I want it stay in 1973 simply so that Glenister will be in it.

He can't go time travelling as well!
