Good evening, all!

I hope that everyone here is well!

I started off with a ‘middling’ score of FOUR out of seven this week in the main quiz

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-67090687

. . . but I could only manage TWO out of five in the junior one:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/51318780

You can do better than that though, can’t you?

Well done, Toorak!

A full 50% better than my aggregate!

Hi Chris, 5 and 2

Question Author

Good evening, Scorpiojo!

Thanks for keeping me company on my lowly score of 2 in the kids' quiz but well done on beating me in the one for grown-ups!

Good Evening, Chris!

Lovely to join you again this evening, although the weeks seem to be flying past far too quickly.

My scores are

5/7, 4/5

Don't know about where you are, but we have had plenty of rainy days with the temperature dropping. Good excuse to get the throws out to snuggle under and catch up on films and TV series.

I am just getting ready to have a go at reupholstering my dining chairs as they are wearing very thin, but never done it before, so wish me luck! Being an ex-teacher I am quite handy with a staple gun, but if it doesn't go well may have to call in the professionals, which I am sure will be quite costly.

What have you been up to lately and how are Chequers, Moonbeam and Tablo doing? Surely even Tablo has been inside more with the poorer weather.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead whatever you may be doing 😊

Question Author

Hiya, Karamia!

You're right - the weeks do seem to be going by at a ridiculously fast rate these days!  I hope that you've got the sprouts on for Christmas 😄

Well done on joining Toorak out in the lead at the moment!

After loads of sunshine here, we've had plenty of rain for the last few days (including right now).  Neither the cats nor I want to go very far right now!  (Tablo seems to be basing hereself in my kitchen, probably so that she'll be right there as soon as I open the fridge to reach for some cheese.  Moonbeam, who used to be my outdoor cat, has rediscovered just how comfy my bed is and hardly ever moves off the pillow.  Chequers is fed up because I've taken 'his' seat, by my desk, to type this).

I've not been doing a great deal lately but it was nice to join a couple of friends in a pub on Tuesday evening to do some crosswords and drink some beer.  That was my first time in a pub for many months and I really enjoyed it.

I hope that the reupholstering of your dining chairs goes well and that you don't end up in A&E with a chair stapled to your hand 😊

Have a good week!

Hi Buen.  Well some sort of consistency in that I scored 3/7 and 3/5!  Hope you and the kitties are well.  Much relief here following a clear chest X-ray on Mr. J2.  :)

2/7 and 1/5

4/7 v 4/7 so far so good

2/5 v 1/5 how did that happen?

Weather here so wet. The ovine quartet are still in the garden, Shady is used to sheep so they don't bother him, he says Hi ! to Cheqs,Tabs & Moonbeam

Hope you are well - any poetry this weekend ?

Question Author

Hi, Jourdain2!

I'm glad that there's been some good news in your life after all your troubles.

The kitties and I are all well, thank you, as I hope that you are too.

I feel sure that all the very best people will have an aggregate of 6 this week ;-)

Hi, Canary42.

I think it's a case of "Better luck next week" for you with those scores :)

Question Author

Good evening, Haras2!

I think "Oops!" might be the most apropriate comment for your junior score this week - especially as one of the answers had already been given to you in the adult quiz!

I've got no poertry gigs lined up at the moment.  I'm thinking of going to one in Haverhill but, even though it's not that far from here, I don't like the drive (even in the daylight) because of the constantly bending road.  I'm not really too sure about whether I want to drive there on a dark night, possibly in the rain.  (I'm still hoping to get a website up for my poetry soon though).

The Bonkers Bunch all say a big 'Hello' to Shady!
(I've no idea what they would make of sheep in the garden. "Where's the mint sauce", possibly?)

I hope that you'll both have a great week!

Evening Chris.

4/7

3/5

Hope this finds you well  ; ))

Good scores, as always, Lie-in King!

Well done!

5 and 2

Question Author

Another one ahead of me this week!

Well done, Ubasses!

5/7,2/5. Puss Puss working out just how many times he can go out and get wet and his human will still dry him off each time. Bailey as ever not believing that wet paws can be good for kitties. Hope all is good with you and yours and the rain isn't bucketing down like it is here.

Childlike this week

1/7

4/5

Question Author

Good evening, Campbellking!

Well done on beating me!

I'm still trying to work out how it is that Chequers can go out in the pouring rain but then come in apparently hardly wet at all (except, of course, for his muddy paws, which he plonks everywhere he can!).

It's lovely though that Moonbeam, having lived outdoors for much of his life, finally seems to have decided that he prefers life in the warm and dry, curled up on my bed most of the time.

Tablo simply goes wherever she thinks that the best chance of some food is, whether that be catching a mouse outdoors or begging some cheese indoors ;-)

The rain here seems to have finally gone for a while, with the forecast for the weekend including quite a bit of sunshine (although with overnight temperatures close to freezing).

I hope that you, Puss Puss and Bailey will all have a lovely week!
