I'm struggling hearing the tv, I have hearing aids but still need it too loud being mindful of neighbours in a flat ...I've tried wireless ear phones but my lovely niece who usually deals with these things struggled to set them up

Even if they had worked they were only suitable for sitting up. I like to lay on my settee and watch a film maybe or watch tv in bed. Unable to do that with bigger earphones.

Would the smaller bluetooth buds work with a tv, please.

i dont gethow you use ear buds with hearing aids?
You might find it helpful to go into the TV's audio settings to enhance its treble output and decrease its bass output.

From the website of the Royal National Institute for Deaf People:

As long as your TV has Bluetooth, there's no reason why any wireless earbuds wouldn't work, you just need to pair them both.
I tried some that just fit in your ear, but they kept falling out, so I've now got these - they hook over the ear and never come out:

If you're struggling to connect your earbuds to the TV, have a read of this:

Gizmonster's first line is very important.

If your TV has Bluetooth .....

Many don't.

Thanks all. I'll look into all suggestions.

Bednobs, I'd take the hearing aids out if I were using another type of hearing device.
I also have Tinnitus in both ears and head that is worse with tv back ground noise.

Thanks again, helpful advise as always here .
You can buy hearing aids that come with a small box that plugs in to your tv - this box transmits the sound to the hearing aids without affecting the tv speakers.
Use a set of Bluetooth headphones - far better sound quality.
woodchopper...always helps to read the OP properly!
