I see adverts from people offering to wash my wheelie bin once a month for £4 and (different adverts) clean my roof.

My wheelie bins are clean and why would I want my roof cleaned?

I could understand people paying to get the solar panels on the roof cleaned
Enterprising I'd call it! I'm all for people getting off their bottoms to to earn a bit of money!
Tiled roofs often grow a lot of moss. The birds pick it off and litter the paths etc. & I suppose it could block the gutters.
I bag my waste for the wheelie bin - I suppose if people don't they could get messy.

My window cleaner cleans out my gutters when necessary. My tiled roof is at least 60 years old.

I remember the old galvanized dustbins and maggots. Cleaned with Jeyes fluid, boiling water and an old mop.

Can't remember the last time I saw a bluebottle, not that I want to. They used to fling themselves at the wire mesh in front of the meat safe in the summer.
I wish someone round me would offer to wash my wheelie bins for £4.Ours are smelly and it's a to do job that gets put off.
Just hose the bins out. Oh, hang on ....
Wheelie bins are smelly with rotten food and anything perishable. , despite everything being wrapped up. 3 weeks is a long time between collections .
Not everyone is capable of cleaning bins or removing moss from roofs and gutters. It’s a great service .
Used to get my black wheelie bin cleaned once a month and it was well worth it. I now use bin liners so not needed. Window cleaner also cleans out my gutters once a year for £18. Had all the moss cleaned off my roof a few years ago. Unfortunately neighbour refused to pay to have his half done and moss is now growing back over to my side!
these services have always been around and will probally continue to be in my area often a man follows the dustbin and washing certian peoples bins after they are emptied then neigbours come out and ask for their to be washed and they join the rota
Anne, we have separate food waste bins and they are emptied weekly. Our black bins are emptied fortnightly.
When I moved house in the UK I lost my wheelie bin cleaner. Yes, I could hose them out but he did such a fantastic job, especially on the garden waste bin.
Now, I miss my wheelie bins! We have to deal ourselves with all our waste but it does make us careful of waste, what we buy and use, so no bad thing I guess.
My paper/card and general waste bins are clean apart from bird poo on the lids but the plastic, tin and glass recycling bin and food waste bin always get dirty.
Don’t people put liners in their kitchen bins? Nothing goes into my black bin that isn't wholly contained in a knotted thick bin liner so my bin doesn't get 'dirty'. A wash out with hot water and disinfectant keeps it 'fresh'. I would pay someone £4 to do that once a month.
Also a lot of people think twice before buying large blag bin bags from supermarket. They are quite expensive if on a low budget.
I live in a flat so it's communal bins, but if I had my own bins I'd gladly pay £4 per month. It's a bargain.
i rent and the bins that are here were and still are absoloutley revolting
I use compostable bags for my food caddy indoors but I've noticed that when the food breaks down it causes leakages and the bag to break down too. More so in the hot weather. I don't put a lot in the food caddy so often wait until it fills up before transferring to the outside bin.
The trouble with bin liners is its yet more plastic.

I dont have a problem with having your bins washed, we used ot years ago when I worked away. The problem doing it yourself is that the hose is not strong enough, well not with the awful pressure we have, meaning you have to get the karcher out.

I put a new roof on recently so I dont have that problem.
I lined my landfill bin but having all three cleaned inside and out with a pressure washer was so much better than I did with the hose and brush.
