In the 70s if you drove with your lights on in daylight, people would flash you.

I had a motorbike, and started driving with my headlight on. So many motorbikes were having people pull out of junctions in front of them that it made sense.

People used to flash me to turn it off.

Accidents have happened where headlights appeared to flash e.g. a bike going over some bumps & another driver took that as a signal to pull out or turn. I don't flash at all!
