False Registration Plates On A Car

What is your issue? How do you know they are false?

If they are 'false' it could be for an illegal reason like not paying for petrol or number if other devious acts. If they are false I am sure the Police would want to know.

I was thinking the same thing, ummmm. I am not familiar with UK license plates, but how would jj know that they are false?

DVLA site, put in registration plate no, could be a Ford Fiesta reg on A honda Civic for example.

That's quite a system you have there, tonyav. There's no way you could do that here in Ontario.

When I said that you can't do that here is because your license plate number is linked to your name, address, and therefore other personal information, and therefore only the police and other official agencies can access that information.

I haven't used the DVLA site but there is a site where you can put in the reg of a car and it will tell you if it's taxed.

I got off with a speeding ticket many years ago, samac many years ago.
Letter said I was cought speeding through a camera in Torquay Devon On a speed camera. My car was ( at that time) a Black 1995 Vauxhall Calibra turned out that my car was a Black Vauxhall Calibra was a Red one that went through the speed camera's in Tor quay ( about 200 miles away from where i live ), Obviously I got off with that ticket, different car about 200 miles away from where I lived ( my number plate had been cloned ).

If it has false plates on then surely it’s a police matter?

If I see a vehicle that looks odd I check on a phone app that it is legal. If not, I report it

How do you know that, JJ? If it's on false plates the owner isn't the person it is registered to.
