Seems now it's compulsory for ads to be all black or mixed. Far too much as the black population is only 2% in the UK.call me white and privaldge I don't care

13:56 this just in: people are allowed different opinions.

Yes, we are bednobs, glad you realise it !

I too would take the 'voters choice' with a very large pinch of salt where the BEEB is concerned. It's almost a sin to be white these days, oh sorry, I should say white and privileged LOL .....
Shirley, the BEEB have npthing to do with the awards given out by the BAFTAS, they just show the ceremony. It's like blaming Sky because a movie you don't like won an Oscar.
If you say so.
Well, I say so because it's a fact. The public vote is carried out by BAFTA, not by the BEEB. As much as you want to blame the BBC for this, for once they're not at fault.
Pshaw!
Don't you come on here with all them facts and being all reasonable like, Mozz.

Have we reached critical-mass, yet?
They’re at fault for allowing something so controversial to be screened on a light hearted family show in the first place. And then the next week, despite all the complaints, we had Alesha Dixon continuing the theme. The BBC is culpable.
No jth, he didn’t come here being reasonable. See above.
Mozz71

Almost.

The BAFTAs aren't a public vote (it's the BAFTA committee that decides on the nominations and winners rather than the public). But the Sky analogy is spot on.

Espresso125 - this will be the face of advertising for the foreseeable future. You will see very few (if any) adverts that don't feature a diverse set of faces.

Companies in general know that they can have have ads that feature BAME actors just 'being people', and it doesn't have a detrimental effect on sales.

Same with LGBT characters in adverts. You'll notice a growing representation of non-straight characters in adverts and it simply means that companies can say "look how inclusive we are"...and 18-35 ABC1s love that!
Sorry Jack, I apologise profusely for the use of factual arguments in the face of other's skapegoating. It was wrong of me, but I was young and I do not hold those opinions any more.
Britain's Got Talent is an ITV show.
Naomi, wasn't the Diversity routine on ITV's Britain Got Talent? Regardless, although I see your point, we're not talking about the original routine, but the Television awards show, which the BBC show live, but do not run themselves.

SP, true, the BAFTA awards in general are by their academy, but the specific award that Diversity won was a public vote award.
"They’re at fault for allowing something so controversial to be screened on a light hearted family show in the first place. And then the next week, despite all the complaints, we had Alesha Dixon continuing the theme. The BBC is culpable."
its on frigging ITV!
What have the beeb got to do with BGT???

Talk about moaning for moaning's sake!
"Someone is to blame..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

It helps to have the correct people in one's sight otherwise it smacks of,
"I didn't say it was your fault......I said that I'm going to blame you"

Personally, I think there are far too may cartoon/animated characters taking proper acting jobs away from flesh and blood people.
Thanks for putting me right. Sorry BBC. ITV is culpable... but you’re far from squeaky clean in the woke stakes too.
But Jack, if they cut the animated characters, what happens to all those voice actors?

Besides, have you seen Tom and Jerry? I dropped an anvil on my cat's tail, it does not go like in thpse cartoons!
I think itchy and scratchy are doing 2 actors out of a job
Naomi, do I get an apology too after you said I wasn't be reasonable, despite my factual point? ;-)
Does it matter which channel it was on? It was a disgrace to allow such one-sided politicism to further the cause of a destructive, pernicious entity such as BLM.

Shame on ITV and anyone who offers a platform for this political and racist (and yes, BLM ARE racist) hate-mongering.
Mozz71

Ah...I get your point.

The Diversity moment won the public vote? Didn't see the BAFTAs this year.

Wow.
