I've been out and about three times this week and normally try not to buy much, because I hate to think someone is making money especially drinks. Anyhow for three days on the run I've had a coffee urge and spent £1.40 per day on coffee total £4.20. No sooner I've finished it I regret buying it, why, because the coffee I buy from Sainsburys is £2.30 for a 220g bag and lasts me about 2 weeks.
Why does it concern me so much? the only thing I can think of to make it better is that about two weeks ago when I had a coffee urge there wasn't a Greggs around, so I ended up going into a Costa something I never do, because they rip you off even more, it was £2.40 for the same size cup as Greggs and no difference in taste, so on that note I console myself that I've not done to bad.
The thing that really puzzles me, is that a few weeks ago I spent thousands on a motorhome and didn't blink an eye. Is there any help anyone can offer to get over this expenditure of £4.20 that I've spent on coffee this week. Thanks!
Nothing wrong with you teacake- its all to do with perception of value- a £20000 Motorhome could be excellent value if its in good condition and nearly new. My wife is always grumping about the cost of a cup of tea out and about- a 1p teabag and 1p of milk and water- why do they charge you £1 50? I suppose the answer is overheads and making a profit- high street rents are prohibitive, and I guess the social experience is worth something- enjoy your cuppa!!
I never buy coffee when I’m out. I never drink coffee at all actually. I could understand a need for a glass of wine, but not coffee. Mind you, a glass of wine is much more expensive than a coffee. Ten pound last time I looked.
The reason I don't go to Costa isn't the expense. It's the queue, you have to wait as they laboriously fashion pretentious concoctions with silly names for the people ahead of you.
I don’t drink coffee!, and I live in London but I’d rather gouge my eyeballs out than pay £10 for a glass of wine!! I can walk to my local Lidl and buy three whole bottles for that!! Lol
