My favourite answer on any quiz show ever was on Family Fortunes.

Being educated to graduate level I still had to look this one up. Why would you presume "ordinary" folk would know military terms?

I could ask you a question on the gestation period of a sheep, or what was the name of the major tendon running down the back of a horses leg ,and the name of the bone it connected with. Then I could PMSL when you answered Uh...nine months....er the funny bone?

I should imagine some questions are obvious , when seated in your armchair

With the 'glare' of the lights and the cameras in your face I would imagine that your mind goes blank and you just say the first thing that pops into you head , however unlikely to be correct
I agree with Bazile. It is for that reason that I would never contemplate going on a quiz show or even attend a pub quiz.
Having appeared on a TV quiz show, I can assure you the studio and cameras can bamboozle even the most experienced quizzers, and they just freeze.
