John Lennon was murdered..remember that morning like yesterday....I was drying my hair getting ready to go to work when I heard the news on Radio 1..where were you ?

In Germany, he'd been dead a week before I heard it, don't know why!
I remember it well i was on holiday in Cornwall..
In a record shop in Copacabana, Rio.
I can't remember, but I remember what I was doing when Elvis died !
About 7 at the time.
Absolutely no idea, it wasn't me guv though.
Was driving at time and had to pull over. Also when Alex Higgins died. Made a case for his stage show.
I was at home with my two little boys. Shocked me to the core! John was always my favourite beatle. So so sad...
My Mum was bringing me tea in bed to get me up for college and I was listening to the radio. The presenter said "And the shock news this morning is that John Lennon has been shot dead in New York" I remember it really clearly
My son was eight days old so that's was probably changing his nappy
I was a new mum living in Paris so probably heard it on the news but can't remember. I can however, remember like yesterday the assassination of JFK, I was very young but felt very sad for some reason.
I remember hearing the news but can't remember where I was or what I was doing, if anything.
Evening, Minty.....I was in Calgary waiting to give birth to the daughter.....
There were two more assassination attempts not long after...the Pope and Reagan....It still niggles me that they survived when John Lennon didn't.....nice guy, I think....x
In a bar in Brooklyn with my English BF ( yes reader, I married him ). I can remember his almost helpless anger...and my own shock.
I was 10 and didn't really know too much about The Beatles. (My mum was a Cliff fan.)
I do remember my dad coming home from work saying "Well, The Beatles can't get back together now."
Remember it well it not what I was doing. Horrendous as is any murder but one person so prolifically well known, the shock is even worse!
I wondered why the radio stations were playing Beatles songs but eventually one of them explained the news. I was shocked. Pop stars often die young but seldom murdered.
